Shimano XT FC-M770/M760 Hollowtech II Crankset Review

Shimano XT FC-M770/M760 Hollowtech II Crankset
Average Reviews:

Great crank. XT has always been the workhorse but HT II is even better than old design. I upgraded from older design to the HT II and have no more side to side give on those hard uphill climbs. Install instructions are ok but some great install video's on youtube to check out before you put it on. just type in "Install external bearing bottom bracket". Finally, the recommended placement of spacers for my bike was incorrect and I had to try two different configurations before getting the chainring to line up correctly for my front derailer.

I've had it less than 1 month. I live in the city... Crashed on concrete/dirt from about 4' high a few times. So far so good. It is holding up well. Kept me from adding a bike carrier on my car since it folds nicely in the trunk.

The kit came complete. Instructions were more pictures than instruction, but most of the installation was obvious. Some of the hardware was too short and not strong enough. had to buy machine bolts to substitute. Once the installation was complete, the bike rode great. Its exactly what I was looking for. An electric bike conversion to a bike I already own.

Fantastic shoe - feels like a slipper on top but is very rigid. When you pedal, your foot sits perfectly. It is also nice to see that someone beside BikeSomewhere.com has Sidi shoes available through Amazon - you might actually receive them! Seriously, though, these are fantastic, sturdy shoes with replacement parts for the stuff most likely to break. They ain't the fanciest shoes, nor are they the cheapest, but they are a good reasonable investment.

Contour Wearable Camcorder (Black) Review

Contour Wearable Camcorder (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Questions I often get~ Where have you been? You don't have one of these yet?
I know show me some footage you say! - You must check the site for some great videos people have made from just quick clips some with no editing at all to full on short movies. I recommend that because there is not enough room to describe how cool this wireless and very light camera is to use - but I'll try! I'm a customer not an employee... and "i am pc!"
Camera is so light and versatile I've used a basic piece of Velcro strapped to my cap visor during golf, stuck it to my bike frame, velcro'd to my motorcycle kickstand, strapped it to ski pole to check a wasp nest, and of course it serves great as a plain ol' helmet cam too.
Someone even stuck it to an RC Plane. Even on their dog for a dog cam view. yup! Set yourself free!! no wires means you will not have to worry about much except wiping out while catching your buddies on film.
With the flick of the glovable slider on/off switch and audible sounds and aiming lasers you are able to basically use it with your eyes closed or even place it where you can't see it during filming. Its got a supermic as well - it will pickup a pin dropping ;o) All which can be adjusted when you edit/censor your movies even add music.
The build quality is very durable and can take impact. Trust me ;o)and the adhesive with supplied mount is semi permanent you may have to use a crowbar to take it off but you do not have to worry even at well ~ unsafe speeds. Basically you can be creative on where you place this camera knowing it will film for over an hour+ of footage at a time. Battery life will last about 3gb or more of video on a good charge.
Package comes with microSD card but Sandisk premier 2gb card is best to use with this unit. This battery should be charged by separate charger which seems to super charge the battery, usb charge by a pc is not going to help you get out there filming quick enough. Specially, when you need 2 batteries for a full day of mtn.biking, or Snowboarding so you still have juice- after you warm up and stop wiping out. The packaged items that come with camera is a good starter kit with a mount, cam, sd card, battery - you have software(which VholdR updates with cool new features every so often) which assists you in producing your video to the VholdR.com site for sharing. Yes, they have a producer hub for you to share your videos.
Oh yah, the desktop software also supports _mac now. of course "I AM PC!"
My VholdR carry along always ready ALLDAY bag contains: 2 batteries and 3 2gb sd cards - since camera software does not yet support larger sd cards. Which really is not a problem because 2gb cards are cheap. Cabela's #2 scope cover for lens, extra stick on mount(never know where you might be)
Quality of video for this unit is not HD but captures quality STABLE videos when moving fast. At slow captures like walking or filming a party its just like any other camera. Some lighting issues may occur depending on where you are filming at high speed, i.e. Night time, shadow/bright light changes.
640x480 is still a fine size which uses less space on SDcard, it sure would be nice to be able to toggle resolution WHEN larger SDHC card support is there.
My VholdR has been thru rain, mud, dirt and has so far over 4months has been such an enjoyable experience i can easily recommend to others.
VholdR receives additional "way cool marks" for providing Desktop Software to help with managing movie uploads. Software updates and firmware updates prove they are not just a camera maker. Oh did i mention a cool site to share your movies for free?
Overall experience is that this is not just a camera - so two swollen thumbs and two purple toes up for this gem of a camera from me!
Ok enough typing... check for yourself get out there and shoot its almost snow season get your angles dialed. Where you been?
my best examples would be ~ thatsMOCKFOO on VholdR website btw, i have no idea who that nut is!
~ go get some videos people!VholdR Wearable Camcorder (Black)
My only negatives are,
* 2gb max microsd support(not a big deal) after cutting up videos i find smaller clips are easier to manage anyways.
* When the battery dies if you are still in ON mode - your video is not closed so the last video clip could be corrupt. So I changed my habit until that is figured out.
* Making shorter clips is easier to manage I've found. Just accept turning it off then on about an hour into video or gauge your battery life like a gas tank. You can check how much battery and sd card is left by pressing the button btw.
* Lighting changes from super dark shadows transition to super bright sections of trail may take a short while for focus depending on where camera is mounted. Not many cameras can handle this anyways.
These are minor negatives but prevent a 5 from me.
Still a super camera for a such a light wireless and reasonably priced for good action video camera that i won't mind thrashing a bit filming in the elements. This is a rugged camera which you can capture action in ways you may not with your bulky thousand dollar HD camera. Like strapping it to your snowboard or your motorcycle kickstand, or how about your mountain bike pedal? Escape from the paradigm of the helmet cam.

Urban Mover Terrain Folding Electric Bike (26-Inch Wheels) Review

Urban Mover Terrain Folding Electric Bike (26-Inch Wheels)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was really excited to get this bike. It is not cheap but I felt that the practicality of it would help to validate the cost. The day I got it, I plugged the battery in right away so it would be charged and ready to go the next day. I live a little more than seven miles from campus. On hot summer days I am completely soaked when I ride my bike in. It usually takes me about 35-40 minutes on a regular bike. I was looking for something that would make the trip easier yet would still be environmentally friendly. When I saw this bike, I thought it would be the perfect solution.
As soon as I took it on a ride, I was in love. The power assist made riding so much easier. Hills were no problem. I got to campus and was still relaxed and not soaked! The one thing I noticed is that the top gear was still too low for me. On my bike I can usually spin at about 14-15 mph on the flat with no problem. This bikes gearing would not allow me to do that. I rode the bike back and forth every day. The battery would last for the duration - most of the time. On a few trips, it started to die out about 1-2 miles from home on my return trip.
The real problem happened about a week after I received the bike. The power assist literally quit working about half way into class one day. I practically killed myself trying to get to campus on time. I was exhausted and soaked. I was hoping that if I let the bike rest for the day that it was perhaps an overheating issue or some similar sort of thing. Unfortunately, for my ride home that afternoon, the power assist never worked. That ride felt like I had a 200 pound weight dragging behind me. I almost didn't make it home. I was extremely disappointed. I parked the bike and was hoping that the next day things would be better. No chance. The bike was "dead".
I immediately decided that I was not going to mess with this. If the technology was unproven or underdeveloped I did not want to throw over $1500 out the window. I packed it up and shipped it back. I must say that I was pleased with Amazon's Return Policy. I got all of my money back, including the $100+ that I paid to ship the bike back. I would love to have an electric bike that is reliable and affordable. Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to keep looking for a while longer.

The most popular form of transportation in the world is the bicycle, but few Americans take it seriously as a car alternative. Enter the Urban Mover Terrain electric bike, a battery-powered bicycle that can go farther and faster than a conventional bike with little effort. The Terrain is outfitted with such features as a lightweight, folding aluminum alloy frame, a Shimano Tourney gear set and shifter, and 20-inch alloy wheel rims with stainless-steel spokes. The folding frame is particularly convenient, as it takes up about as much space as the average piece of luggage, letting you tuck it snugly into the corner of your trunk or closet. It's the advanced Panasonic lithium battery and powerful UM brushless hub motor that really steal the show, however. The electric assistance makes it easy to pop into town for groceries or commute across the city, because the bike's sensor detects how hard you're riding and instantly matches the effort. Even a casual peddler can maintain speeds of 12 to 18 miles per hour with a minimum of effort. And when you stop peddling, the power is interrupted immediately so that you're always in total control. It's the perfect bike for commuters tired of facing traffic jams day in and day out or dealing with the spiraling costs of car ownership.
The Terrain offers a real alternative to the social and fiscal costs of driving. Maintenance and fuel costs are minimal, with the electricity for charging the fuel checking in at about 10 cents for every 12 to 18 miles (the charger works in standard outlets and charges in less than six hours). In addition, the bike effectively flattens hills by increasing your average speed on the approach, making it simple to climb hills of up to 12 percent without collapsing in exhaustion. And although it won't keep you as fit as a conventional bike, the Terrain will get you outdoors and moving. Perhaps the most popular feature, however, is the emission-free design, which is far cleaner and greener than carbon-based transportation. And if you charge the bike using power from a wind generator or solar panels, you'll be even greener. All that plus it doesn't smell or rattle, is completely silent, and is easy to maintain.
Bike Features:
Lightweight, folding alloy frame
Fully sealed bearing system

Sonoma Men's Chainless Drive Evolution Urban Voyager Bicycle Review

Sonoma Men's Chainless Drive Evolution Urban Voyager Bicycle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am an avid mountain biker and as many people know, mountain bikes are slow and unwieldy in an urban or suburban environment. When I am not mountain biking I am commuting in an urban environment. I needed a bike that is more suited to paved roads, sidewalks, light rail trips, and moving nimbly to avoid hitting people or other objects.
The Urban Voyager is a great bike for this environment. I ordered the bike from the Sonoma website and it was delivered very quickly by UPS. Everything arrived as ordered and was easily put together, the fit and finish is comparable to that of my much more expensive Trek EX8 FUEL. The paint is a nice metallic green that would look at home on a Lexus.
On to the bike review. The chainless drive is great, it is very quiet and you will not miss the constant chain noise. The chainless drive is strong, there is a lifetime warranty to back up the quality. The bike is perfectly made for an urban environment. The tires glide over paved surfaces easily, there is very little resistance. The entire bike seems to glide along as there is very little noise and it's very comfortable.
The gear bag is handy but it is not quite big enough. Regardless of that I am able to tie my back and laptop to the rack and that takes care of my luggage needs. It's very nice not to have to worry about getting chain grease on my clothes or legs when I am coming or going to work. This is a great innovation.
It's clear that Sonoma has decided to let this product advertise itself through people discovering the bike and talking about it. This allows them to keep the cost down as they are not spending on advertising. I would encourage everyone to at least try one of these bikes before deciding. I'm confident that they have the right strategy as this is a really good bike.

I purchased this fork to replace a suspension fork on a Giant Hybrid. The original fork on the Giant was worn out with no replacement parts available. I needed a replacement to match the original geometry and be compatible with my rim brakes and made for a 700c wheel size.
The ride has been great, the front end is lighter, no regrets.
If needed the post's can be removed and disc brakes can be used.

After committing the monstrous mistake to send me the wrong product, this provider didn't take charge of the expensive penalties and costs involved to really solve their mistake.
They even what me to pay more to get what i should in the first place,
I paid 370 received 100 in flying penalties from the size alone and 200 more on weight.
When I tried to get the right case for folding bikes their quote was $500+ (even when their web advertisements show it was cheaper because it was smaller) and the return shipping on ME!!!!
Outrageous!!! I ended up with a useless case nobody whants and I plan to throw in the garbage... and 500 $ les in pocket.. Buyers Beware!!!

Westport Adult Folding Tricycle Review

Westport Adult Folding Tricycle
Average Reviews:

I'm an overweight adult looking to get into shape without killing myself in the process. I ordered this bike after doing a significant amount of web searching. Is it ever fun to ride! Now I look forward to coming home from work so I can hop on the bike and cruise around the neighborhood. I'm getting exercise, having fun and my dog comes along, too. Since this bike has no gears, I'm not flying down the road so the dog keeps up with me easily. The only improvement I can wish for is a three-speed. That would make hills a lot more do-able but hey, the idea is to get in shape. The breaks work great and the basket is really roomy. I can ride down to the grocery store in my neighborhood and come home with three sacks of stuff, no prob. So this thing's saving me gas money, getting my heart and knees strong, letting me feel the wind in my face and giving the dog a good walk all in one. A very good investment. My husband had it assembled in no time and it feels sturdy. Looks good, too. Many friends and neighbors have expressed bike envy. I tell them, "Hey, it's still on sale at Amazon.com!"

Just the ticket for an enterprising new rider or a cyclist revisiting the freedom of his or her youth, the Westport adult tricycle is sturdy, comfortable, and a surefire attention getter. The Westport boasts a strong steel frame with a low step-through design for easy mounting, along with a suspension fork that cushions the ride when you encounter bumps.
Even better, it's easy to reacquaint yourself with the wonders of a tricycle thanks to the super-stable three-wheeled design. And when you're not out enjoying your trike, the well-engineered frame folds up for easy storage, so you won't have to clear a ton of extra space in your garage.
Riders will love the extra-wide, comfortable seat, which is ideal for long, lazy afternoons, and the upright handlebars, which you can adjust to your preferred position. Best of all, the Westport comes with a handy cargo basket safely tucked behind the rider for hauling along all types of cargo--from groceries to school supplies to a small suitcase. Other details include strong linear pull brakes to handle the stopping, 20-inch wheels, and a front fender. There's no better way to have fun, get valuable exercise, or visit a friend's house.

Bought this jacket for my lovely wife, she is extremely pleased with it.
Great features, including the hood and extra drop tail, has two zips at the front one that unzips for ventilation and the other to open the jacket. Waterproof and windproof, warm for 0-10C.
Breathes reasonably well, great with a thin baselayer but can get a little sweaty if you don't have long sleeves.
I bought a large and my wife is around size 10, fits her well, it is a reasonably slim jacket with good length in the arms and body.

Currie EZip Trailz Step Thru Women's Electric Bike Review

Currie EZip Trailz Step Thru Women's Electric Bike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this bike because i am getting to be a near jurassic (70 yr old) man, but wanted a "step thru" frame. At this age i just cant swing that old leg up like the young ones and dont mind the snickers about it being a lady's bike! Hey bring me my pink water bottle!! lol
So.. the shipper (UPS) did a real bang up job..and i mean bang up! The box was ripped, the frame scratched, busted some styrofoam and generally musta had a gorilla throw it around before finally leaving in on my front porch. Ezip does pack it well though and they are smart enough to include some touch up paint.
I was immediately impressed with the welds, the finish, and overall quality of the bike..amazing for the price. Assembly was not too bad, and all parts were there except one front hub nut (this maybe be lost due to the shipping?) The front brake was out of adjustment but i used the rear brake as a model. All instructions were easy to read, however like so many products these days, the lawyers must be have written the first five pages of everything because of all the WARNINGS! Wear a helmet! Dont ride at night!
Tell your mother where you are going! (ok not that one) Dont ride in sandals or barefoot!
Oh my goodness, did i buy a bicycle or a death trap?
The battery is being charged tonight and i will take it out for a spin tomorrow, and I look forward to passing those spandex bicycle "gangs" going uphill , puff puff... "come on boys!"
So far, so good and i will add a review on how it runs a little later, but for now i can recommend this Ezip machine, a heck of a deal for the money (god bless the chinese) . If we could just export our love of litigation we could eliminate our trade deficit!!
oh ya, it says i am in bangkok, thailand but i am now in the mountains of colorado..
Pike's Peak here me and lady Ezip come!! (she hasnt got a name yet).
Oh one last thing... i am 6'2" and 200 lbs, so the bike is a little small for me, but for the price i can get small.... if i like riding electric bikes (i think i will), maybe some big manly bike is next!!! but I'm keepin the water bottle!
P.S. after 3 months of riding... the bike is FANTASTIC... no problems.. no regrets ...this is my kinda relationship!! (reliable and cheap) oh, one note, if you leave the bike to go in shopping at the dollar store (my kinda place) it turns off the battery after 3 min.. so just flip the switch back on and you be zoomin in no time...
oh ..one more note.. it is very easy to switch back and forth between pedal assist and motobike zoom... and whenever you hit the brakes.. the motor cuts out.. so you wont go flying thru that busy intersection!!
good luck all

Mongoose Men's D-H Team Bicycle (Black) Review

Mongoose Men's D-H Team Bicycle (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Great Bike For Price! I had it assembled for $100 at 2 Wheeler Dealer a local bike shop I bought a Cannondale from 10 years ago that I paid $1000 for. The first time I took it trail riding on a beginner trail, within 15 minutes the left crank loosened from me pedaling and my crank was about to fall off! I took it the way it was to the bike shop and asked why they were loose as I just paid them to put the bike together. They proceeded to tell me I had a "Cheap Dept. Store Bike" and that's why it happened. I explained that I got it on Amazon and that you can't buy this model in any department stores. I'm not sure if they were jealous because I didn't buy my bike there or mad because I got a good deal. They replaced my crank with a different brand without telling me or showing me the old one and sent me packing thinking they had just repaired the original. When I got home I noticed the crank was black but curved different and I was very dissatisfied with 2 Wheeler Dealer in Wilmington, NC. I don't know why they would come from the factory loose or why they didn't check it at the bike shop when I paid them but all they did was place the blame on Mongoose and badmouth the brand. I had to replace the crank myself with a Shimano brand crank and now I think the bike is good to go. Next time I will probably just assemble the bike myself since I had to double check behind the people I paid to assemble this one! They don't even sell Cannondale anymore when
I asked because they said "they are cheap dept. store bikes now too."

Get the best out of your indoor bicycle practice with the Minoura RDA80 Rim Drive Bicycle Trainer. Touted as the perfect indoor trainer for both road bikes and mountain bikes, The RDA80 improves vastly upon older bicycle trainers by using rubber rollers that contact the bicycle wheel, not the tire. This reduces tire wear, noise, and unnecessary vibration that occurs from other bicycle trainer models that rub against the bicycle tire. The RDA is perfect for cyclists who wish to practice in the off season or warm up before a race, and since the rim drive system doesn't make contact with knobby tire treads, the RDA80 is suitable even for mountain cyclists. Choose the Minoura RDA80 for a sleek and efficient practice system that won't wear you or your wheels down. This item is covered by a 5-year limited warranty.

Brooks Saddles Swift Bicycle Saddle (Men's) Review

$ doesn't always = quality, but in this case... I'm satisfied. It took about 30 days before this thing became comfortable, but now when I go for rides, I'm truly happy. It's the difference between a wicker chair and a fine leather one in my opinion. I ride 150 miles non-competitively / week so comfort is more important than weight. Buy one if this is how you roll.

Schwinn Intersection Freewheel Single Speed Road Bike (700c Wheels) Review

It seems like a pretty nice bike. Assembly was pretty straight forward. Removing the chain guard was necessary because it makes too much noise. I had to adjust the front brakes which was no big deal. When putting the seat on I had to loosen the red reflector so I could put the bike seat to the lowest position. Overall it was pretty smooth when riding and I like it. When I use it more I will probably write a better review.
