(More customer reviews)I bought this bike because I will be heading to Denver and needed a bike for transportation. I currently have several road bikes and a Cannondale mountain bike but didn't want to take the chance of having these bikes stolen on the trip. This was supposed to be my cheap bike that I wouldn't miss if it got stolen. Well, sorry to say, after just a week on my girl, I have grown an attachment to her and would be devastated if she was stolen, even though I paid just a little over 200 dollars for her. The bike arrived almost completely assembled and took me only about 20 minutes to get it out of the box and put together. However, I experienced major problems trying to adjust the derailleur. No matter what I tried the derailleur would make contact on either the lowest or highest gears, even after trying to make minor adjustments with the barrel adjusters. I am not a bike pro, but have had some hands on experience in maintaining bicycles, I followed the directions to a "T" and I still could not get the derailleur exactly as needed. I eventually gave up and settled for second best and am happy with that. Maybe I just don't have enough experience with derailleurs, but like I said, the adjustment is a step from perfect, and I am happy with that. As for the bike itself, I have ridden it on light trails and paved trails and roads within the last week. I don't get the same response as my Cannondale on the trails, but my Cannondale cost several thousand dollars, and I would certainly expect better performance with it. But, what I do get, is a reliable bike that handles fairly well for both road and trail and just has a good feeling and fit as I ride. I plan on changing out the seat, not meant to support my admittedly larger framed bottom, and I plan on changing the pedals.....very slippery, although I must admit I am used to pedals I have to clip into. For a several hundred dollar bike though, this bike does the job and does it well. One last comment, I am 5' 8" and this frame fit me perfectly.
